Some nights the city feels like it's breathing with me.
I like when the lamplight spills gold across wooden floors and the rain taps softly on the tall windows like it has something patient to tell. Portland does that to you—makes you slow down, makes you listen. I move through my days with coffee still warm in my palm, the scent of cedar and wet pavement clinging to my coat, and music low enough that I can hear my own thoughts.
I'm drawn to people who aren't afraid of silence—who understand that the most honest things are often said without many words. A lingering look across the table, fingers brushing when passing a mug, the way someone's voice drops half an octave when the room gets quiet. Those small gravities pull me in more than grand declarations ever could.
